We are currently looking for a

HID Lamp Engineer

Job description / Function

Lead the Pinch Improvement section of the BriteArc Technology Project.
The HID Lamp Engineer reports to the LED & Special Products Manager

Tasks:

Conduct research and understand impacts of materials and process variables on the quality of quartz pinch-seals

Formulate hypotheses to increase seal reliability and design tests to verify

Make prototypes of new lamp seals

Report on the results of tests, evaluate and draw conclusions

Ideal candidate will have the following:

Engineering or sciences degree with a materials or mechanical background, or similar by experience (industrial engineer – A1 degree)

Previous experience with technical glass-working processes and/or in stress-modelling /finite element analysis & related software is an asset

Able to independently organise his/her work

Able to drive the research project and to take initiatives

Strong team-player, able to motivate the team

Excellent analysis skills, well organised, structured, precise & accurate in his work

Flexible, creative and pro-active with problem-solving attitude

Quality-focused, working with high quality standards

Strong learning attitude and willing to grow

Good knowledge of Excel and MSWord

Candidates must be fluent in English (written & spoken), knowledge of Dutch is an asset but not mandatory
