We are currently looking for a
Operations & Supply Chain Manager
Job description / Function
The Operations & Supply Chain Manager’s responsibilities are twofold:
- Responsible for the manufacturing of all Tienen and Tunisia GLS products with support of production leaders (team of 4) ensuring optimal deployment processes, machinery, personnel, materials and maintenance (mechanical/electrical) in such a manner that all customer requirements (service-ability, quality and cost) are met and that plant and departmental objectives are fulfilled;
- Responsible for the set-up/maintenance of a cost effective, flexible and responsive supply chain team, able to transform and follow up the customers needs into a production-, purchase- and logistics plan at the right time, to the lowest possible costs, the highest service level and a low working capital.
The Operations & Supply Chain Manager reports to the Plant Director.
Tasks:
1.
- Develop and implement an operational plan and budget – together with the plant director and the other management team members – in accordance with the group strategic plans
- Continuously evaluate and search to improve the Operations Department’s organisation structure, systems, processes and procedures
- Define, develop, direct and coordinate all activities within the production departments (organisation structure, costs & resources allocation – control on efficiency and quality – corrective actions);
- Define, control & supervise the production planning (RCCP) process, WIP-inventory control & maintenance tasks, re-allocate the necessary resources, increase the flexibility within the production departments and ensure that production capacity can meet long and short term requirements;
- Cooperate with all other functions within the factory (quality, human resources, cost accounting) in connection with all productivity aspects of manufacturing. Play a leading role in the definition and execution of all direct cost reduction and quality improvement programs.
- Manage & coach direct reports
- Ensure that all activities are performed following external and internal safety, health and environmental regulations and policies, at all levels within the organisation.

- Optimize & Support Supply Chain Processes in 2 plants (Tienen & Tunisia)
- Conduct & supervise the Mapics implementation in Tunisia
- Optimize the Supply Chain parameters in Mapics
- Organise & supervise the purchasing with support from lead buyers
- Support new product introductions
- Part of the management team, contribute to the overall strategy and organisation of the company, act as a leading change agent.
Ideal candidate will have the following:
- University degree, MBA is a plus
- At least 7 to 10 years experience in a management position in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent knowledge of cost accounting & financial principles and logistics processes
- Knowledge of ERP (Mapics) systems is a plus
- Dutch mother tongue, fluent in English (French is a plus)
- Strategic thinking and broad long term vision
- Organisational talent
- Coach and leader personality with excellent communication skills
- Able to act as change agent
- Resistant to stress, creative problem-solver
- Willing to travel (10% of time)
